MALVERN, Pennsylvania, USA, Shanghai, China - June 18, 2024 - Recently, Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE stock code: VSH) announced the launch of a new second-generation automotive-grade device in a 10 mm x 10 mm 4040 package. ---IHLE-4040DDEW-5A, expands the IHLE series of ultra-thin, high-current integrated electric field shielding inductors. Compared with the previous generation solution, the Vishay Dale IHLE-4040DDEW-5A offers an improved shielding design, polarity markings improve the consistency of EMI performance, and does not require a separate board-level Faraday shielding, thereby reducing costs and saving circuit board space. .
Compared with traditional composite sensors, the recently released device uses a copper-tinned integrated shield to contain the electric and magnetic fields generated by EMI. When the integrated shield is grounded, the IHLE-4040DDEW-5A radiated noise interference can be reduced by 20 dB, and the leakage flux can be reduced by 6 dB, minimizing the crosstalk of components around the substrate. The inductors are rated for continuous operation at temperatures up to +155 °C and have rated operating and isolation voltages of 75 V and 100 V respectively.
The IHLE-4040DDEW-5A power inductor is suitable for switching power supply energy storage and has excellent noise attenuation performance when used as a DC power line choke. The device is AEC-Q200 qualified and suitable for use in entertainment/navigation systems, LED driver filtering and DC/DC conversion, as well as noise suppression in motors, autonomous driving technology domain control units (DCUs) and other noise-sensitive applications.
IHLE-4040DDEW-5A is packaged in a 100% lead (Pb)-free, magnetically shielded, ferroalloy sealed package. Two shielding terminals provide additional fixed support, and it has high resistance to thermal shock, moisture and mechanical vibration. The inductors are RoHS and Vishay green compliant and halogen-free.
Samples of IHLE-4040DDEW-5A are now available and mass production has been achieved, with a lead time of 16 weeks.
